About Us
Rumah Lereng Bandung (RLB) is located on Gunung Manglayang, a National Natural Reserve, nestled in the heart of nature, a private estate set on 1.5 hectares of land on the northeastern slopes of Gunung Manglayang, within the city limits of Bandung.
“Rumah Lereng” means “house on the slope.”
Lovingly built and decorated by its owners, the estate reflects a deep appreciation for the authenticity and charm of Indonesian culture. It has grown into a warm and relaxed homestay, offering guests a caring, personal experience. Our mission is simple: to share the feeling of living in the Indonesian tropics.
The homestay is run by Gugun, with the help of his wife Pipit, their daughter Nabila, and other family members who assist with cooking and cleaning — with the same dedication and hospitality Indonesians are known for. Please don’t hesitate to ask them for help — they’ll be happy to assist you.
For more about the story behind Rumah Lereng, you’ll find the LandBook in your room. It shares the journey — both the joys and the challenges — of building this place over the decades of life in Indonesia.
Surrounding
Rumah Lereng Bandung (RLB) is nestled in the heart of nature, surrounded by sloping hills, winding mountain roads, flowing streams, towering trees, small-scale farming, and the daily life of local communities. Nature is always present here: from the rustle of leaves to the occasional kingfishers engaging in noisy mid-air squabbles.
Located at an elevation of 950 meters, the air is fresh and cool. Mosquitoes are rare, and temperatures are pleasant, typically around 27°C during the day and dropping to about 22°C at night.
Our rooms are designed to blend with the natural surroundings: semi-open, with no air-conditioning or television. Instead, you’ll find:
- Free WiFi throughout the property
- Mosquito nets are available on request
- Warm blankets and soft pillows for a peaceful night’s sleep, immersed in nature
Please note: We are located on Islamic Java, and the call to prayer from the valley below can be heard five times a day. Embracing this cultural rhythm adds depth and authenticity to your stay
