Kampung Naga
Kampung Naga, “Village of the Dragon”, is a traditional Sundanese village in West Java, nestled in a cozy valley. Preserved and protected by its inhabitants, it remains just as it has been for generations.
The village is best visited during the rainy season, when the road leading there is surrounded by lush, stunning rice field landscapes. From the entrance, a short but steep stairway takes you down to the riverside, where you’ll find yourself between rice fields with a lovely view of the village in the valley. Here, you can witness the community’s traditional way of life, listen to their stories, and admire architecture that feels frozen in time.
Getting there takes around 2–4 hours southeast of us, depending on traffic. It’s not particularly close, but it’s a great stop if you’re on your way to the beach in Pangandaran, or returning home via Kamojang Crater, where you can also have dinner. Traffic is usually lighter if you drive back later in the evening.
